About the Eastern White Pine
The tallest conifer of eastern North America, with straight knot-free trunks once reserved by royal decree for British Navy masts in colonial times. Soft five-needled bundles in fan sprays. Maine state tree. Regenerates aggressively after logging, forming pure stands.
